I had posted this in the earlier incarnation of TromboneChat, but it got lost when we restarted.

Sammy Nestico is still alive (and kicking) at 94.

A group is trying to make a documentary film about his life and are looking for kickstarter donations. At the time I first posted there were some nice rewards for donations, but I don't know if they still are available.
