hard gear vs soft gear.

When one has a certian problem with their playing, how can you tell if the problem is the person or the gear. I beleive that the first to blame should always be the person but in the end of the day an instrument is a tool and you need to always use the right tool. So how can you diferentiate between...

Re: trigger spring snapped

I'm not sure if such a repair is possible on my 42b. Of course it is the worst time for something like this to happen since all the shops are closed. I guess I'm stuck playing my king 606 until the lockdown is over.

trigger spring snapped

I was practicing today when I heard a snap and saw that the spring for my trigger came off. I tried to keep practicing without the trigger but since there was nothing to keep it in place it kept moving. Is there any diy fix I can do or should I see if repair shop is still operating.

Re: Shires q series.

My tech put an Olsen rotary valve (Instrument Innovations) on my 42B, and now it's one of my favorite horns. yes, but as I mentioned I don't have an unlimited budget and buying new valves and putting them on my trombone would be costly and If I get a new trombone I sell or trade in my current one.

Shires q series.

HI I currently play a Bach 42b and I'm considering switching to horns due to the valve. The problem is that I can't really afford to spend more than my current trombone is worth which us around 2000 dollars since I also want to buy a bass trombone. I heard the shires q series is good and it's around...

Many of us have probably seen this drawing. I'm interested in it's history and backstory. And most importantly- what kind of trombone this is. It couldn't be a sackbutt because it has a trombone flare. Iv'e also never heard of a trombone with that kind of loop on the slide. The closest thing I know ...

Idea for trigger trombone ergonomics improvement

So Iv'e always had a hard time holding trigger trombone because I can't support the horn with my thumb on the brace like on a straight trombone which is why I use a hand grip on my trigger trombones. So a fairly obvious change that can be made to possibly drastically improve the ergonomics just popp...

The Alex change valve is large, but that's to accommodate six ports in a single plane valve.
