Thein Trombone

Post by walldaja »

Looking at the Thein website I was surprised by the bores of their tenors. The Universal I was 0.590 and the Universal II was 0.610. All with an 8.5" bell. Anyone play one of these? If this trend persists we'll soon call 0.547 horns small bore.

My guess is that they are in this case referring to the outer diameter of the tubes... I have played a Universal I and while it was not a great fit for me, it CERTAINLY was not a contrabass trombone slide bore.
