Latzsch SL 242

Post by Arrawarra »

Hello

Just wondering if anyone has tried this trombone?
If so what do you think of it?

What are the specs you are considering? I tried one version of it at ITF 2018 but don't recall the full configuration. The cf valve was fast and quiet. The slide was great too. In my hands it felt big and had some mass to it. The one I played reminded of the Bach 42 but felt more stable and predictable. Nice horn but not my cup of tea.

I’m looking at a used one at the moment but haven’t played it yet, but planning to make the journey to try it soon. It’s their model “o” the open wrap version.
I’ve got a Latzsch valve on my vintage Conn 88h which is one of the reasons I’m drawn towards it.

I really like the SL-240 88H clone and the rest of the line was great but not my thing. I am curious to hear more about it if you go look at it.
