Some really odd bass instruments

Post by hyperbolica »

For whatever reason I was watching an old cimbasso choir video. The world is full of odd stuff.

and I saw something that looks like a cross between a cimbasso and a baritone horn.
He appears to be sitting next to a bass trumpet player.
Is this just a home made job? Any idea what it is?

And another view in a different video of the same group

And then something odd that looks like a tuba where some of the tubing just came unwound. It is described as an Orenohone in Eb, built because of shoulder pain. The guy is legit, though, he can play

And then a tuba style cimbasso...

That first one looks like Jim Self's Jimbasso.

Oren Marshall is a beast, the Orenophone was built for him.
