Conn 70h and 72h tapers the same?

Post by mrdeacon »

I've always been told that the 72h is identical to the 70h except it's hacked up to have the tuning in the bell.

Are the tapers in the 72h tuning slide the same? Everything is more or less proportionate?...

Not sure I understand the question.
One has tuning slide in the bell the other has the tuning slide in the hand slide. How are you comparing them?

So I guess I'm asking is the tapered portion (the U) of the 72h tuning slide the same as the top portion of the J bend.

Just imagine the U and the J flipped over haha. Is the U the same taper as the curved portion of the J.

Hope that makes more sense...

Curious if the 72h has a tighter bend... Like how the TR180 has a dual radius tuning slide taper vs the single radius on the older 169 and TR185 models.

There were bell sizes from 9-9.5. Big difference in the taper. The newer 70's (mid 30's and up ) are more in line with the 72H bell.
