Anyone played a Shires small bore sterling silver bell? I believe they only make it as an 8” bell and there’s something like a $1500 up charge above a regular bell section price
Keen to see if anyone has tried it as a Shires 3B Silversonic type setup?

Re: Shires ‘Silversonic’
The upcharge is not very surprising given that the price of 925 silver is 150-200 times higher than that of brass depending on the brass alloy, form and source. If a bell is normally formed from less than $10 worth of brass, it will easily have a 4-digit raw material cost in silver.

It's also about what a King 3BSS vs a King 3B charges. WWBW has a 3B at ~$2400 whereas a 3BSS is $3700.

I haven't played one myself, but I seem to recall talking with someone who had saying they gave a brighter tone then the King Silveronic

If it was me... I'd just get the real deal, King 3BSS with gold trim over the Shires. They probably come out to be the same price.
