Olds Recording Matching Serial Numbers
Was Olds Recording Trombones manufactured with all of the parts serial number matched throughout their entire production life? I have a 1959 Recording and all of the components are matched. I am looking at a 1969 Recording and the only place I see a serial number is on the slide section. There is a two digit number on the tuning slide that does not match the serial number. That is the only numbers I see on the horn. It does have the duo-octogonal inner slides tubes. I am wondering if this could be an all original horn, or if it is a mix master that has been assembled from parts? Any opinions from the experts would be appreciated.

I'd have to check but I think mine from the mid-50's has non-matching numbers.

Re: Olds Recording Matching Serial Numbers
The serial number on my 1966 Recording (552xxx) is only stamped on the slide, with the number "1" stamped in the underside of the receiver.
