Hi,
Does a nickel bell King Tempo fit on a 3b slide?
Or 2b?

I had that same question a while back, so I took a screenshot of a previous topic for my own reference. Here’s that old post, and all credit for the info goes to Klimchak:

3B/2B+/606/Benge 170/Tempo with 8” nickel bell are compatible
3B+/607/608/609/Benge 160,175 are compatible
4B/5B/Benge 165 and 190 are compatible
Different tenons between each series, so some mods would have to be done to put a 3B slide on a 3B+ bell section

Re: Nickel bell King Tempo - which slide?
The Tempo didn't have a nickel bell. It was brass with nickel plating.

As stated above, the tempos (tempi?) with an 8” bell are compatible with the 3B slide. They are marked 1306 Tempo.

Jop, curved brass, brass bell with nickel plating AND clear lacquer on top. Pretty tough stuff. 2B slide will fit without problem and play great

Yes, curved brace. My faux silversonic bell. The bell section is built longer and more narrow, like the current 606 models. It seems to help with balance some getting the tuning slide and counterweight a little further behind the player.

Re: Nickel bell King Tempo - which slide?
I'll vouch for that. I just got a nice old Tempo bell for my Jiggs 2B. Just thinking about mutes was causing little dents to appear in the Jiggs bell - the Tempo will be much tougher.

I'm pretty sure you could use a hammer as a mute and the tempo would be okay. I have one in the shop getting a new tuning slide because whoever owned this one seems to have taken a hobby to hitting their tuning slide as hard as they could against a wall made of uncut diamonds. But the bell barely looks scratched.
