Schilke 51 series question

Does anyone know if Schilke ever made a more commercial mouthpiece in the 51 series?
Something with a slightly shallower cup than the 51B and just a slightly tighter backbore?
I switched to a 51B a while ago but got frustrated at loosing the top of my range even after lots of practise.
I normally have a solid high G
I love the way it feels and the sound but...would like a little more "Grip and ease" in the upper range

That too big a rim for you to have solid high range.

Not a general comment - intended specifically for dukesboneman.

I own a 51A and used to own a 51A1/2 which I regret selling. You can get them custom made by Schilke.

What's a high "G"? The "G" that is three lines above the bass staff or a G way the hell up into some other staff?

Rest assured that G 3 lines above the bass staff is well within Dukesboneman's range. He's talking about the one at the top of the treble staff.

The Schilke 47 has the desired specs you've listed, but with the smaller rim Doug says you need. If you need a large shank version of that, Doug can whip that up for you.

Shows how much depends on personal preference and individual anatomy. I've never been comfortable with a Schilke 51B, either large- or small-shank.

But like Bach5G, I've been pleased with a Schilke 51 (my long-time large-bore favorite) on a Conn 79H (0.522" bore). [Though I must admit, I've never even tried to reach a "high G" – I used to be able to squeak out a high F!] For 0.500" bore trombones, I use somewhat smaller mouthpieces (e.g., for extended high range, a Schilke 47B).
