Conn shank in a modern horn?

Post by BigBadandBass »

I know you shouldn't pair a modern piece with it's taper and a older conn, can you go the other way and it be fine?

It'll fit just as badly, the other way around. Not worth it.

I've got 70H leadpipes in both my Conns because they work better than the other 25 pipes I have...modern Conn slides on old bells... my mouthpiece has pretty much a Morse taper...still works...

Conn taper is bigger at the end than Morse taper shanks so it won't go in far enough and will wobble.
