Bach 12SC mouthpiece

Post by BrassSection »

Just wondering if anybody else is familiar with a Bach 12SC mouthpiece? I got it from my dad when I started “baritone” lessons in grade school. Dad used it for his baritone days in the Army band in the late 40 s early 50s. He called it a “cushion rim” model. I used it all thru school and am still using it as being the entire brass section in our church band, primarily in my trombone. Use it in my euphonium with an adapter on the occasions I’m playing plenty of high notes. For me it’s a great all round mouthpiece in the ‘bone for highs and lows. Interestingly enough, a straight 12C works better in the euphonium for low notes, or if I need to really go low I switch to an Olds 3 large shank mouthpiece.

Figured out how to add pics, here is the Bach 12SC. Wondering if there is anything similar made now?
