Best Brand for tools?

Post by vetsurginc »

My garden variety tool set (home depot, northern, craftsman ancient) are beginning to wear out so time to get some good stuff. Hex wrench in 2mm is needed, so a set running to little stuff. Precision as I don't want to mis-size and gronk a screw socket. Long reach small tip screwdriver for slipping between tubes on a bass trombone is also on the list.

Still best haunting Home Depot? I'd rather spend more on a good tool that doesn't cause problems, than save a couple bucks with a tool that produces a hundred dollar repair requirement.

All thoughts welcome! And thank you for your help!

(No technicians were harmed in this post. I know when I'm going to need help - like lots!)

The Harbor Freight "Icon" brand is actually really good!!
And I've found that Husky has a small set of Allen drivers that are really nice and not stupid expensive!!

And you can't beat Ferree's for long thin screwdrivers!!

Great speaking with you yesterday Doug!!

Man, Ferree's catalog that makes your head spin. So specifics, say for Rath screws? I know I need the 6" length, but tip and width I'd be guessing.

Thanks again!

I use the F72 set up for just about everything.

Another option is Votaw Tools. They have tool and parts.

Try eBay and the Band Instument Repair Tools and supplies" group on Facebook. Some good deals to be had.
