Portable Speakers for Backing Track.

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of a portable speaker that can connect to a phone/tablet via cable OR BlueTooth for the purposes of playing a backing track. It would need to be at least loud enough to play along with a single trombone, preferable two. I plan on using this with iRealPro, YouTube, and other mobile apps. Cable charging, battery, direct wall plug in all are fine. I'd generally would like it to be compact enough to fit into a backpack. Nothing too small, or too large!

For those of you who do use a portable speaker in your lessons, which speaker do you use? Thanks!

I use a Fender Newport bluetooth speaker in lessons. Sounds pretty good, compact enough to not be a hassle. It projects well enough for a living room, and from what I've seen, this one is about as good as one can find for its size in terms of projection and sound. It won't be sufficient for something like a small recital hall. And don't throw it in a river.

I like the JBL flip speakers. Not sure what number they're on now. I used a Flip 2 for 5 years before it broke. I recently bought a Flip 4 last year

Another vote for JBL Flip.
