New year‘s day concert (Vienna)

Is anyone else enjoying the new year‘s day concert from Vienna today?

I‘m really liking the balance of the sound today, totally subjective I know but it exactly to my taste.
In my opinion, the lower brass is present with a rich sound and tight playing but not overpowering. That is exactly what I want to aim for when we eventually get back to orchestral playing. To my ears, the horns and lower brass are well matched but I could take a bit more trumpet.

As always musically and stylistically the whole orchestra sounds great.

I agree! Exceptional musicianship from an unbelievably good orchestra. And I was quite moved by it for some reason. I usually think that kind of music is too sugar sweet for my taste. This time however felt quite different.
It reminded me how much I miss playing in a big orchestra. And also how much I miss traveling/touring! Visiting those castles and vineyards...and concert halls.
