Hey fellas, anyone selling/know where I could find a silver/nickel plated large bore trombone? I've tried a lot of your typical sites, but with a budget of less than $1000, it's fairly difficult. Much help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat. If you're fond of knockoffs, the Schiller American Heritage Closed-Wrap (based on some Yamaha model) can be bought in nickel plate for about $500 on Ebay from jimlaabs. Quality might not be the same as, say, a silver 4BF, but for the price, I've heard it's not a bad deal.

I have a very clean Benge 165F in silver plated finish well in your budget range.

Be patient. If you just wait, there is a fairly steady stream on the usual places. Noah (above), eBay, Classifieds, DJ, etc... About $1K is an OK place for a silverplated Benge, Bach 36/42, or Conn 79H/88H. They are rare, but they come up fairly regularly. May have to wait a month or two, but you will find one.

This is a good trombone, at a potentially decent price, from a reputable seller.
