Suggestion: Dark Mode

It would be nice if the forum could create a "Dark Mode" option that inverts the colors for easy reading at night.

Like having white texts on a black window/background would be easy to read in the dark. Youtube, and twitter have this option.

Unfortunately, we don't have access to the backends of the website. I doubt that'll be implemented, but I do know of some addoms for popular browsers. Which one do you use? I might be able o recommend one.

But no one who moderates this forum has the access to do this.

At one time we had a test of a number of different "skins" (one of which is on Trombone Chat) and we decided that none of them was any better than the one we have.  Also, we decided against offering the option for members to select skins.  It became a headache of maintenance since some skins didn't work with some browsers.

I believe Trombone Chat still has a skin selection option, but I tried all of them and the default works best.

I find when it's dark a lower overall brightness makes things easier to see.  Many newer devices automatically adjust screen brightness to the room light.

If you use Chrome, you can give this addon a try:

I use it when I use Chrome with good results.  It also has a high contrast mode that I find makes websites easier on the eyes in bright situations.

If you use Firefox, it looks like this addon might give you the results you're after, but I haven't personally used it:
