King 2b Serial Numbers on Bell Sections

Does anybody know when and why H N White stopped putting the serial number on the bell section of 2Bs?

I have 3 bells, 1939, 1946 and 1960 (based on the slide). The 39 and 46 both have serial number on the bell and tuning slide, but I cannot find any serial number anywhere on the 1960 bell section. In looking at the hnwhite web site, I notice that it looks like 2Bs in about the mid 50s and up don't seem to have serial numbers on their bell section (in their 'sales' section).

Anybody know anything to add?
