Edwards T-STDN vs. Getzen 3047 slides

Besides the tenons, are the Edwards T-STDN (T-350) and Getzen 3047 slides essentially the same. Ostensibly all the components appear to be the same—except the tenon. And to me they play/feel nearly identical.

Can anyone confirm this? I learned from an Edwards representative that the crooks are the same component.

Can the tenons be swapped in either case to fit the desired trombone? Succinctly stated, can the tenon be swapped out on a 3047 slide to fit an Edwards receiver?

On the website somewhere there's an article where Edward's said if you were to buy X Y Z exact parts then they would reccomend the Getzen. In that case I dont remember what the bell is but the slide I am pretty sure is just a T-STDN as you described.

Do you know if the Edwards tenor crook (T-STDN) and bass crook (e.g. T-BCN) trombone hand-slides are the same length and width? I also sent you an email about this and other potential projects.

Larry, I sent you a PM - I have a narrow Shires slide that might also fit the bill and possibly a tenon. The Shires slides are the same length as a comparable Edwards slide. (Not Bach length). Not sure if you saw it or not but just posting here redundantly in case it would interest you

Does anyone know the differences between a Getzen 1047 and the 3047? How about the 1047 and the 747 Eterna? I play both the 3047 and the 725 Eterna - love'em both - so I have experience with them but have never played the 1047, 700, or 747. I'm trying to help a college student pick a new horn.

I think the main difference between the Custom (3047AF) and Eterna (1047F) slides is the mouthpiece receiver having a fixed leadpipe (like most other fixed leadpipe trombones, not like the ones on the Custom Reserve). Specs (yellow brass outers and nickel silver sleeves and crook) are otherwise the same...? (Getzen's picture for the 1047F is misleading. Oddly, the Eterna basses have removable leadpipes.)

The Eterna II slides are lightweight, in dual bore .525/.547" (725) or large bore .547" (747), but still yellow brass outers and nickel silver crook (likely the same as the 1047F outers and crook).

But otherwise, not much point when you can have an Edwards tailored to fit your needs.

I've actually been fairly surprised to see that a lot of listed Edwards artists are using the T-396 now. I had thought it wouldn't have affected the pro world much, but it definitely did.

I'm not surprised at all. It does basically everything an orchestral pro needs, in one package, without having to be fitted.

Why don't Getzen play in professional symphony orchestras?

When he was in the LA Phil, I understand Jeff Reynolds played a Getzen 1062FD for awhile. The horn used to be called the Dave Taylor Model, before he went over to Edwards.
