Hi from Tenerife, Canary Islands.

Post by bazman62 »

So Here we are!
I'm a Brit living in Tenerife, and after a 45 year break I'm getting the Bone out again and starting over.
Started playing at 11 years old, progressed well, (grade 5 RSM distinction, moving to Grade 6) and the intention was to join RAF Band, however, guitars and girls arrived on the scene in '77 and the 'bone was sold to make make way for the guitar.
I'm still playing guitar, in fact it is my fulltime work now, but I was given a bone a few years back, it sat in the garage until last week, and now I'm having to start over, playing, learning and reading music.
From what i see on here I'm not alone, so any help, advice whatever to get back on it would be happily received.
Cheers

Seeking advice on TC is like getting a drink out of a fire hydrant. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

Welcome! I'm just getting started myself - you're in the right place! There's a nice thread here if you're looking for some more reading recommendations: https://trombonechat.com/viewtopic.php?t=12660

Btw, being a musician in Tenerife sounds like a pretty good time. Glad that first trombone trade worked out well for you!
