Mouthpiece Comparison on the Lindberg Warmup

Post by WilliamLang »

Hi all!

I had some time today, so I decided to make a quick video using Christian Lindberg's warm-up that he posted on youtube while he was in quarantine in Thailand -

I've found this warm-up and the concepts behind it to be really useful over the last couple of years. It's simple, but quite revealing.

For this video that I made I decided to go with 7 different mouthpieces while using Christian's warm-up, one for each position, and follow that up with Lindberg's own 4CL piece and some thoughts along the way. I found it to be super interesting in the minute details from piece to piece, and also in my own playing, as I went through this exercise. All the playing was done with the same intent and musical thought, trying to equalize the effort and isolate what the mouthpiece itself changed.

Hope it's at least a little interesting!

Also - for those interested, here's the line-up - timings so you can jump around can be found in the in the info and the pinned comment on the video.
