Where can I find Bill Potts Big Band Albums and Bone Voyage?

Post by CorvusLegatus »

I had heard an LP of Bone Voyage in the past but wondered where you may be able to get one either digitally or physically. Thanks

From another thread:

viewtopic.php?t=24019:
For anyone else googling Airmen of Note albums, you can find most if not all of the Airmen of Note albums (pre-2017) here (click on Audio Archive):

https://web.archive.org/web/20171022214 ... airmen.htm

The CD quality files are absent, but it looks like the mp3 files are there.

That's an amazing collection of Note recordings, nice that it's all available. I'm on the 5 CD's between 1989 and 1996, after Steinmeyer's time.

I don't know if any Bill Potts albums are online anywhere. I'm on 555 Feet High (I think that was done in 1985) and I'm sure I have a vinyl copy somewhere.

discogs.com is a great source for hard to find LP's or CD's.

There are currently Bone Voyage LP's there for $7.50 and up
and some Bill Potts LP's available

Wow. Thanks Thomas. I never thought of using Discogs. I was able to find the CD version of 555 Feet High but only LP version for Bone Voyage.

I went the Discogs route a while back (viewtopic.php?p=161397#p161397) on the Bone Voyage album, and had the LP converted to high resolution digital files. I've since used Sonic Recreation (https://sonic-recreation.com/) for a couple of other albums (Colorado Jazz Party and Manhattan Wildlife Refuge), and everything has turned out great. The conversion service costs a bit more than if you can find the same album in digital format to begin with, but for albums that were never cut on CD or are difficult to find in that format, it can be a nice service.
