Hi, I'm sure there are many posts similar to mine but I was looking for fresh replies My name is Logan and I am graduating from High School in a few days! I will be attending West Virginia University, majoring in Biochemistry. Now that I'm done telling you all my life story, I want to ask what trombones would be recommended for me, I prefer a large bore with an f attachment, and I am hoping to stay in the range of $1000. I plan to use my Olds Ambassador for the marching band, but am looking for one for the concert/jazz band.
I would consider a medium bore with F for your next acquisition since it will be a less drastic change from what you are playing now. I could give you a long list of instruments, but I'll leave that to the other posters. Note that you can check the Classified Ads here for instruments in your price range. You will need two more approved posts to message the people posting the ads (sorry about that). Given your situation, I'd strongly consider something like a Yamaha 646, 448, 356; or a King 607, 608, or 609.

Logan I echo Bruce and JTeagarden's thoughts. Unless you're going to "dabble in low trombone parts" you won't need a large bore with F attachment for jazz band.
I guess I should have mentioned that for the past two years I have been using a large bore trombone for concert and jazz band, I would be willing to change to a medium bore. There are times that I "dabble in low trombone parts" but they are mainly in the pit when I play for the musicals.
