Which Greg Blacks have you tried and which came the closest to the Schilke?

I assume the D5.2 is equivalent to a Hammond 11L or 11XL (since Karl designed the Symphony series).

Greg doesn't use throats that large on his pieces, so they will be a different vibe no matter what.

His 4G and variations on it will be close. I'd probably try the 4GS, 4G/5G, 4GSD.

New York 5.5 and 5.75 might also fit the bill.

I only have some measurements of D5.1 and Hammond 10L, which may not be very accurate, just for your reference.

The backbore of D5.1 is tighter than Greg black #1*, #1, #3 and Hammond 10L, so the difference might still be huge. (It is also the experience of my friends and me.)

The Standard backbore on all G cup variations (e.g.4.5G-5G) is the #3 and the #3 is more open than #1.
The #1 is the backbore that is standard on the New York Symphony Tenor Trombone Mouthpieces (e.g.NY5.25).
The standard backbore on the W mouthpieces (e.g.4GSW) is a #1* which is slightly tighter than the #1.
