I saw a bunch of ppl doing this sort of thing here to get their verification posts done, so figured I'd join in. HS tenor trombonist in the LA area, hoping to make a career out of it! Looking forward to chatting with y'all!

Please note: News and Announcements is intended for Chat Staff to notify members of big changes in the Forum or major appointments in the Trombone world. I'm moving this to Tangents where there are a bunch of "Hello World " threads where I wish you had just posted a new comment.

Hey Pixie! Welcome!
You're so lucky to be in L.A. at your age. I second what Aidan said. You've got many of the best trombonists in the world within easy driving distance. It would be criminal for you not to take advantage of that and get some lessons from the greats. It can change your life. Go for it! And report back.
If I were you, I'd start by contacting Alex Iles. Besides being an incredible trombone player and versatile in both classical and commercial playing, he's a truly nice guy, very helpful, and not intimidating. You'll like him. Hit him up! He can also point you to other wonderful trombonists to take lessons from.
