Post by ttf_BGuttman »

Ron Knaflic of Edwards Instruments demonstrates how to lubricate an Axial Flow valve.  This procedure should apply to any Axial (Thayer) valve.

Nope.  Axial (Thayer) Valves are different animals from regular rotors.

If you search on the Osmun Brass site you should be able to find maintenance instructions on a rotary valve, including restringing if you have one that uses a string.  Bob Osmun is a horn player and is quite familiar with rotary valves.

I heard that they no longer recommend that Teflon coating stuff.. just oil for the valve!
