I owned and played this 78H for 5+ yrs before I sold it to Stephen. You hear the term Time Capsule instrument used frequently. It must have been in someone's attic Un touched for 50 years. It plays with a big full resonant tone, but it can get that nice sweet soft Tenor sound when needed. Pre WWII Conns are great. As good as Bach NY or Mt Vernon IMHO.

Proof in the pudding. If you listen to Detroit Symphony recordings from the 1950's, you'll hear Al Chase, principal trombone, playing on a pre-war silver plated 78H. Fabulous sound and has that core, when needed, to power over the orchestra on the Berlioz recordings.

I had a truely amazing 1928 78H years ago. Why, Oh Why did I ever let it go??????????
Anyone out there buy a Satin Silver 78H from Dillon`s in the early 1990`s? Just curious where it might have ended up.
