If you want one trombone to play absolutely everything with.........this is not it.
This is a Conn 12H, from the 1950s, made in Elkhart. It's got a solid copper (Coprion) bell and a .484 bore. It is the darkest sounding small-bore I've played, until you get to mf.
And then you're OFF.
This is the sassiest, punchiest, sweetest horn at volume. Church-lady sassy. Olenna Tyrell sassy. Just a big, beautiful, omnidirectional sound that feels alive in your hands and makes the air around you hum. I've used it in combos, and it's just fabulous.
This can't be your only horn, that's why it can't be mine. But it can be yours for $500.
