I had a delrin cap made for my Bach 36 rotor that I really like and so I don't anticipate ever using this again... its in good shape. New they're $50. Make me an offer. I won't be able to ship until Saturday the 15th though!

Matt:  I just acquired a 1947 Bach 36 last Friday and I would like to have another rotor cap  to modify. However, I am going to insult you with what I am sure you will find an insulting offer. $10.00 plus $3.00 for shipping. That said, I base the offer on the following info; First, I do not understand why or how Bach thinks their valve caps are so precious, different or any better than other valve caps made by Conn, King, Yamaha etc. I have an Allied catalog and following are the listed prices for different rotor caps:

Bach rotor cap (also fits 36/42/50  -  $34.55
King valve cap 665  -  $34.40
King valve cap 146  -  $35.00

Conn C-23405-4  - $10.40
Conn C-65948-2  -  $9.25

Yamaha Y-D23 42010  $12.31

Note the very reasonable replacement cost of both the Conn and Yamaha parts compared to the grossly overpriced Bach/King parts. I am sure your valve cap is in near new condition. What valve cap isn't. I own probably ten trombones with valve caps and each and every one is as new condition. However, they are still used valve caps. I feel my offer for your cap is within the market.

I'll send you a e-mail; I was basing my price off the hickeys price of $60 (+ 30 - 45 days estimated wait  ) --- not surprising to see such a discrepancy in pricing between Bach and everyone else!
