I picked this up on a whim for a few bucks. It was being used as a "decoration" and I suspect that is the only life this old horn will ever have. However, I was curious when I saw the ad for an old Silvertone.

From what I have found so far, I've learned that there was a mashup with Sears at one point regarding trademarks, naming rights and the subsequent switch to the Silversonic name. However, I can't find record of this horn or it's model number anywhere.

The numbers I can discern:
2407 This appears to be a model number.
1149XX which I believe is a serial number. This is on the slide outer tube and slide brace.

I'm reading of some "stencil" versions associated with the Sears brand, but most of those appear to be associated with trumpets. The flourish around the "Silvertone" marking on the bell of this horn is certainly not as ornate as the legitimate early Silvertones.

There were Sears Silvertone trombones. I'm sure they were made by somebody for Sears (probably Blessing).

The trademark suit came in the early 1950s and the SilverSonic dates from then.

King Silvetones had the curved bell brace. Most of them were 2B's. The 3B, 4B, and 5B date from much later. There were other models like the Symphony that could have been Silvertone, but they were much less common.
