Love the attention paid to several of the people who contributed to these discoveries! So often, this stuff is distilled down to only mention one person's name and leaves out interesting context.

Somehow I feel there should be a joke here about Klingons.

Once while teaching beginner band at an elementary school students were doing lesson on the distance of the planets from the sun out. The sun was at one end of a long hallway and Uranus way down at the other end. The teachers had spaced the planets out proportionately. The chosen method of measurement was a role of toilet paper. I leaned over to the other band director and ask if we should ask the kids "How many squares it took to get from the here to Uranus?"
