Playing a vintage 62h with a standard Morse shank Bach

I've been playing my 62h this way for at least 40 years, professionally and for pleasure. All my teachers really liked the sound I was getting. No need to change to a Remington shank I thought. So just to satisfy my curiosity, how many of you are or have been playing a 62h this way?

True but I really think it makes a positive difference when it fits right.
A Morse taper in a Conn receiver has a large gap around the bottom of the shank.

We played our Conn 88h's with Bach mouthpieces at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in the 80ies. A lot of players that became professional players went there. I discovered the difference somewhere after 2000 when I found out about Remington and Morse tapers. To me I can feel the improvement when I play the mouthpiece that fits.

Done it for years....I have plenty of Conn shank mouthpieces, Bach and others.... the overall quality of the mouthpiece seems to outweigh the simple fit issue. These days I have plenty of Morse taper leadpipes and can get the best result in both blow and fit.
Bob Hughes didnt do badly with a Morse taper Bach 2G in an Elkhart 62H.
