Conn 100H for B&H International?

I have a chance to trade an excellent Conn 100H with superb original hard case for a Boosey and Hawkes International in similar condition but with a beat up case. The B&H is .525 with attachment. Both are silver plated. I don't know anything about this B&H and cannot find anything on the web. Is this a prudent trade or not?

I wouldn’t, ive never heard any good things about besson/boosey. Euphonium’s good, trombones not.

The International was Booseys pro line before the Sovereign was developed, as with all of Booseys trombones some played great but a lot where dogs

It's from Massimo Pirone so indications are good.

This B&H is about what I wanted/expected but it is old-school, with satin silver plated bell and "bright" silver fittings. Hefty too, but I never saw a Besson or B&H trb that wasn't. Unfortunately, it took some damage in international shipping and it needs to go into the shop for a slide adjustment. Massimo said the pristine Conn 100H I traded to him also got some shipping damage. Both horns were packed and padded to the utmost. I'm not against buying horns without trying first but will never trust international shipping again. Never had a bit of trouble with the US only shipments.

That’s a shame, hope all is well once you get the slide fixed up.

Thanks Elow. It blows real nice and looks good anyway. I think Massimo made out okay...it's one of the best 100HS trbs l ever saw.

I was given the wrong model name by the seller. Imperial

Sounds about right, there’s an imperial bass in the classifieds if you want to match horns.

Imperial, indestructible heavy undersized rota, a step up from the regent

Built like a tank, just like my 2 Bessons. Pretty sweet high register too.

Thanks Elow but I doubt I'd have the arm strength to hold up an Imperial Bass. This 523 bore is heavy enough. Plays really nice though.
