An odd question perhaps ... Is the Rath R2 goose neck only compatible with the R2 slide or do some of the other smaller bore Rath slides also fit?

I don't know the whole exhaustive list of what fits what, but I was able to interchange a R2 slide with my R10.

I'd check with Tim @ Rath for more info.
