Hello Folks,

Just curious if anybody who might stumble across this could direct me, and anybody else who might be interested, in the direction of recordings where we can hear Per Brevig perform? I hear often of the talent and quality of sound he had when he was playing more, but despite some effort haven't been able to find anything readily accessible. I hear he had a solo album but it is only available as vinyl? Suggestions please, and thanks!

I have a Music Minus One album (vinyl) with Per playing a few solos on one side and just the accompaniment on the other.  Naturally, the material isn't going to show off his virtuosity since the music isn't that difficult.

Great thanks guys. Didn't occur to me to look on amazon. Doh! I will check out the links. I find it curious that his material isn't more readily available though. For a name as big as his is. I hoped someone might be able to suggest particularly noteworthy Met Orchestra recordings I could purchase, as it seems there isn't much of a comprehensive catalogue available on Spotify and albums are quite expensive just to try for a glimpse. Thanks again for the responses.

There is a particularly beautiful recording of Dr. Brevig performing the little-known Douglas Townsend Concerto, that's certainly worth listening to.
You can really get a feeling for his singing style and phrasing.
