Vintage Conn 14H leadpipe question

Post by ttf_Ryebone »

Recently acquired 1929 Conn 14H/trigger..likely my forever go to horn. I do have another .525-.545 horn that is less than ideal compared to the 14H. I will not touch the 14H leadpipe but would like to know if there is a known copy/template or even a loose leadpipe that I could plug into a similarly configured horn. I have tried the Edwards set of 3 and that may be as close as I can get but without getting too OCD (like being mildly pregnant) want to cover what is reasonably possible. The larger of the Edwards .525 has a great open bottom range but is pinchy in the upper register. I'm using a Hammond 11M. Thanks in advance

I knew someone who put a Brass Ark MV36 in one. I think a Brass Ark 78h replica might be better suited. http://www.brassark.com/leadpipes.html
