Just wanted to give props to the person who listed this particular Yamaha trombone on ebay:

Marketing at its finest.

All that is lacking is a scratch-and-sniff function

It's a the inner side of a bank vault door.

After a little googling, it looks like the building their store is in used to be a bank. They seem to use the vault as a mascot of sorts; it's in the background of a lot of the pics on their website as well as their eBay listings.

That's what I thought; it's a winner of a background, in any case!

I disagree. I think the background is too busy and distracting. Isn’t effective marketing when the advertised item can’t get out of your head? So far, nobody is talking about the trombone on this thread.....we are talking about the backdrop. That’s just like all those cute beer commercials that people bring up in conversation....but they can never remember what brand of beer was being advertised!

Merely found it amusing; the "mission impossible" background for a modest student Yamaha... :D

If it made you look it's good advertising. You've seen it now, haven't you?

The trombone "Has bad smell and a lot of cosmetic wear", so it's probably to the seller's advantage if people don't talk about it.
