Hello to all edwards t350 players
How are your horns setup ( yellow bell, gold, Single radius, dual radius , t-stdn slide, B-stdn )
How you setup to be the perfect balance for you?

Get an Edwards T-350HB with a standard, light gauge rose bell (I prefer unsoldered bead), and ask them what the most popular configuration is with that bell. You can get almost any sound you're after on such a setup.

Same case can be made for the 396-AR. These are instruments that are made to be just easy to play and be very flexible.

If you check out the Edwards artists on the website, you can see what combos they are playing. Most players mix it up - a yellow bell with a rose tuning slide. or the reverse of that. Yellow bells are a bit more of a popular choice, but there are notable exceptions - Toby Oft's horn has a rose bell, and if you listen to his YouTube videos, there's no arguing with his beautiful playing with a rich sound. I've found that even with the same player, what combinations you use can be different with different bore sizes, etc. I found that an all yellow brass set-up was best for my alto, when adding rose brass and a nickel slide crook was helpful to my tenor trombones.

With travel opening up, a trip to the factory, or to a trombone event where Edwards will have a booth is really worthwhile. There are people there with great ears and knowledge of the product who can really help you dial in which components work best for you.

Yeah, exactly! If you pick a Rose or Yellow bell just ask for whatever the most popular combo is to go along with it. Edwards has your back, and the harmonic brace is there if you want to fine tune at the gig.

I thought the T350 did not have the harmonic bridge -- that was introduced with the T396.

They make a T350-HB valve section now. That's what Oft has on his. Honestly the Oft horn was the best trombone I've ever played -- too expensive for me though.

If you can't make a trip to the factory then call Cristan at Edwards. Tell him what you do and what your goals are with getting a new horn. If he suggests an obscure combination then ask for components which are more common. Honestly i would be surprised if he suggested something that is a less used combo.

Later if want to make changes you can switch components.

What kind of horn are you currently playing? It's really hard to put together a good modular horn match without trying it out in person.

Now i am playing on Yamaha YSL -682G
But is not in a very good condition anymore

I originally bought and played the Bass crook slide. I picked up another slide with the .547 crook as a backup, and used it while my original slide made a trip to the Slide Doctor. I liked the .547 crook slide so much that I didn't go back to the other. However, after saying that, I would say that the difference isn't huge - they both play well. The .562 crook is a bit bigger sounding, esp. in the low range. The .547 crook has a bit more brilliance and point in the high range. I play 1st trombone in my job, so the slightly tighter slide won the day for me.

I have three Edwards horns. They all play great. Christian is really great at fitting a horn to you. That is probably the best thing about an Edwards is the service. My profile has the specs on my horns.

I had a spot on an Edwards bell that was corroding to make a hole. A small defect. My tech pointed it out to me.
Called Edwards, sent the 10 year old horn in they sent me a new bell. Not just fitting is great service.

I realize that this does not address the OP's question but I want to share that I have had nothing but excellent experiences/service at Edwards and I have worked with them off and on since 1993. Christan Griego has as sharp a mind as there is in the business. He can be a great help in fitting a horn and I would trust him like I trust no one else. Part of that is the long history we have had and the other part is the wide spectrum of players that have come through his door. His ears are huge and his knowledge about which part of the instrument affects what is really impressive. Few players are alike and Christan really can help to get the optimal set up for the individual.
