Any thoughts good or bad on the 73H?
There's one on eBay I'm thinking about. It has split triggers and a D slide.

Most 73Hs (along with their single-valve brethren 71H) were Abilene, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but reduces the odds of finding a great one. If you like that compact 70-series sound and long slide but don't want to deal with the shortcomings of a single valve, it's your cheapest option. (The only other options are taking a 71H or 72H and getting a valve added, or buying a new M&W with 70-series specs.)
The one on eBay looks to be an Abilene judging by the bell. Pictures aren't great but it looks good, and with the D slide and split triggers it wouldn't be obnoxious to deal with. The seller doesn't accept returns, but I'm sure you could find a new home for it on here if you ended up not liking it.

I have an Abilene 73H from 1979. I played it today with a big band as we played Kenton arrangements. It is a good classic big band horn.

I was looking at it. For the price and the work thats been done it may be worth a roll of the dice.
