Mpc recommendations for cimbasso?

I was fortunate to purchase my 1st cimbasso, a 0.728" bore 4+1 valve horn in F (tuba shank mouthpiece receiver). Haven't found much info or youtube videos on mouthpiece selection other than 1 or 2 comments in a tuba mouthpiece comparison chart.

My intention is to be the 'bridge' between the bass trombones and the tubas in our community orchestra. From what I've found on the comparison charts, players use small rim, shallow or medium shallow mouthpieces on Eb and F tubas. Is this the recommended route to narrowing down my search for a suitable cimbasso mouthpiece?

FYI, I have zero issues switching back-and-forth between rim sizes (trumpet, fr horn, tbone, bass tbone).

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest a contrabass trombone mouthpiece like a Bach 30CB or a Marcinkiewicz 107.

Or you could get an F tuba mouthpiece like a Mirafone H2 (my choice for my F tuba). Bach 25 is a popular size and might also work well.

I make some really excellent Contra/Cimbasso mouthpieces in the "in-between" sizes not too much bigger than bass trombone sizes. CB 118 or 119, N cup, N tuba shank is a popular choice. Or the L cup.

Thanks for the advice Doug! I'll be placing an order in today and I'd like to run my choices by you to get your opinion.

A little backstory: my cimbasso included a Marcinkiewicz ST3 (32.4mm inner rim diam.) and a Melton (Meinl Weston?) 150-4.
Both were uncomfortable to play (the Melton way too big). I'm a 70+% upper lip type of player so the top edge of these rims were tight against my nose. This is why I'm choosing a CB rim instead of a TU.

My choices:
Rim - CB 118
Cup - CB J
Shank - TU JFAm

One question: If I wanted to try your 'CB L' cup later, I would need to also swap for the matching 'TU LFam' shank at the same time?

Thanks!
