Hello i have a King 5b which has the serial numbers 7236XX on the bell part and 95XX on the slide.
I just wanted to be sure that it is in fact two different trombones put together.
I also wanted to know what the slide could be in that case. I couldn't find any data of when king started to make their 4b/5b so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Can you send pictures of the horn? It would be very helpful. King has made two different trombones under the 5B name. By the way, a friend of mine plays one in a brass band, and sounds awesome.

King use a 4 digit number on the slide that is more a part number, not a serial. The 6 digit number is the serial.

Just to confirm what was already mentioned: I've had several King trombones (3B and 4B) and all had different slide and bell numbers. It does not mean that they were not sold together new. Not sure if you can find out for sure though, because those slides can of course be mixed up by anyone...
