VINTAGE CONN RE LACQUER

I have a 1939 80H SPEC. The rotor knuckle is cracked and the lacquer is mostly gone from the bell. I would like to have the knuckle fixed and the horn re lacquered. I live in central New Hampshire . Any suggestions on where I should have the work done? Cost is also a consideration. Thanks to all!

The go-to shop in this area is Osmun Brass in Acton, MA. They aren't cheap but if you try to buy on price you often get the lousy job you have paid for.

For a simple crack (i.e just applying a patch) you could consider Dave Bailey in Nashua. (There might be others, but I don't know them.)

A full relacquer is going to be pricey unless you will be satisfied with a shiny but sonically dead instrument. How desperate are you to relacquer? You will never recover the cost in resale value.

This is a rare horn and deserves a proper treatment. Don't go cheap.
