New mouthpiece release, Sasha Romero 525

Post by LIBrassCo »

As some of you who I met at ITF are aware, Sasha Romero opened her recital on her newest mouthpiece in her line, the 525SR. With a very unique set of specs the 525 punches well above it's weight class, providing easy access to the high register with a unique compactness, whilst maintaining a characteristic orchestral sound.

Can confirm that Sasha sounds like a billion dollars on it. Unbelievable sound.

Sorry we didn't meet up, I was at Ilan's booth across the way for a while even!

I ordered a mouthpiece from LIBrass. I wasn't really looking for yet another mouthpiece, but I was knocked out by the sound and response. My former student who carpooled with me to the ITF came by as I was trying it, and just said to me "you should get that mouthpiece". Looking forward to getting it and putting it through its paces. Nice product!

Did Sasha use this on a .525 horn?

Nope, .547 bore Shires, her normal horn.

Absolutely. The design gives it a very large sound on either bore.

Are all three backbores also going to be offered in the small shank version?

The short answer is no. We've messed around with backbore on small shank, and the one backbore we offer just flat out worked better than any other one we designed.
