4G Mouthpieces

Post by victor »

Hello everyone. I would like to know if anyone has had experience with Bach 4G Corp and Faxx4G and how they compare.
Thank you

I can’t say about the Faxx 4G specifically. Faxx states they make copies of Mt. Vernon Bach mpcs. Presumably they have a “good” 4G to copy from. They have CNC lathes that faithfully reproduce the mpcs, subject to the CNC lathe’s capabilities and the programmer’s skill. Try them and compare. Faxx mpcs are inexpensive.

I can say that a New York or a Mt. Vernon 4G will probably feel different (smaller) than a more modern 4G. The rim size seems to have increased over time.

Slightly off topic: Sometimes people get hung up on “a Mt. Vernon xG” vs. an “early Corporation xG” vs. a “New York xG,” etc. With the variability of Bach mpcs, I think focusing on whether the mpc fits you, vs. whether it’s “a Mt. Vernon xG,” is more important. In other words, a Faxx 4G might work better for you than a Mt. Vernon 4G with a pedigree.
