Darcy James Argue's Secret Society: Dynamic Maximum Tension is nominated for a grammy for best big band album.
I play a solo on "Tensile Curves".

And a dandy solo it is too.

DJA is a local boy (N Vancouver Canada) who made it in NY.

Great composer/arranger with a great band. I've been following Darcy James Argue's Secret Society for a while now, but hadn't had a chance to hear that album yet. Thanks for posting.

I listened to DMT on my way to rehearsal this morning. First impression: terrific album with some great trombone playing on it.

Disappointingly difficult to find much info about it. Who’s in the trombone section and in particular, who’s on bass trombone?

Thx.

I see Ingrid Jensen, another local-ish (she grew up a ferry ride away) kid who made it in NY, also plays on it.

Searching Ryan Keberle leads me to this:

Is there a "deluxe" packaged version of this album available somewhere? I.e., with some nice informational leaflets or relevant photos?

As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate music album releases where the physical media has some more appeal than just a cheap cardboard jacket.

Cool! I haven't heard anyone doing Ray Anderson kind of things on the trombone except for Ray Anderson. Even the backgrounds sound a bit like the soundscapes his groups create. Nice!
