It's been up there since at least September 2023; there was some discussion about it on this thread:

I check on it every once in a while to see if it's sold or maybe the price has changed. It looks to be all original Williams with the exception of the valve section and wrap.

Based on the way the seller prices their items, they're willing to wait quite a while for the right buyer to come along. Gotta figure there's not very many people with both the means and desire to purchase this one.

I believe I have played that 10. A while back a famous horn seller in my area had a 10 with Reynolds dependant valves, it worked beautifully!. It might have been a different conversion but Reynolds rotors are quite good for vintage valves.

Being in real estate, I have a comment for his price. The Seller is the highest bidder.

For the horn, I have always thought having the f tubing go forward without being heavily attached to the bell was a good thing. But since we do not see anyone making f tubing like this, something must be wrong with it.

Nothing wrong with it, it just isn't the modern american-style aesthetic.

It's a trade off I guess. A really small one. You get one additional bend, which some might see as a negative, but it reduces the effective length of the tubing behind the bell, which is a plus.

Why is that a plus ?

In a pit orchestra, or when the section is placed against a wall, it's a plus. I think it would shift the weight towards the bell a bit though.

Gravity. Less bell heavy means not having to "push up the instrument" to balance it while you are playing it. Makes perfect balance sense.

Being interested (maybe mildly amused) by this advert I put a watch on it so I could keep an eye on it and see if anything happened. I just got a special off from the seller - he offered to knock $700 off of the asking price. I would have had two at that price but unfortunately he seems to only have the one!... Doug

I gotta say, I'm a little jealous of the water key on the tuning slide for the F-section. My stereophonic doesn't have one, and I have to pull the slide and empty water from it every now and again
