The 1956 Kenton in Hi-Fi version of Peanut Vendor: who do we think is playing the trombone lead/solo at the start?

According to discogs, the players are. Bob Fitzpatrick, Don Kelly, Milt Bernhart, Carl Fontana and Kent Larsen. Sure doesn't sound like Carl!

Milt Bernhart played this one. There's a nice interview with him online where he talks about it:

Edit: Probably not Bernhart... Bernhart plays the earlier recorded version in 1947.

In the 70's, Dick Shearer, my trombone hero, played it with an awesome edge, then Mike Vax would lead the screaming trumpet section, what a power surge!

Bernhart talks about 'I've got you under my skin' in that interview, not 'Peanut Vendor'.

Oh, Sinatra, Kenton, what's the difference?

You're right, just checked. It's been a while since I read the interview. But they're also playing Peanut Vendor in that show and crediting him for that.

Although when I listen to the Hi-Fi version it doesn't sound at all like the 1947 version that was played by Bernhart. Either he interpreted it way differently and the sound engineering makes a huge difference or it's someone else.

I actually just looked at the booklet for something else. The booklet says Kent Larsen plays it and states Milt Bernhart did the original recording in 1947.
