Sadly, things work a little differently on this side of the ocean.

Sadly for whom? Presumably not sad for "us" over here, but rather for "the US" over there.

I totally agree... the USA is not a 'shining beacon of light' when it comes to anything having to do with the health and welfare of it's 'consumers' (... which is how we're all referred to by the corporations and private corporations that have been outsourced to take care of society's basic needs over here.)

I'm merely pointing out that when it comes to actually 'doing the right thing', the USA is somewhat of a '3rd world country' compared to most of Europe and other countries in the world.
