I recently acquired an FE Olds Valve Trombone (R-0). Despite reading through the Olds 1970 Trombone booklet, I am still not sure of the classification of the stock bell for this horn. It is clearly not the same as the R-15 Bell (red brass), but is it considered to be comparable to a "Recording" bell?
Thank you!

I suspect you have an O-20, like the one I own. Definitely not a Recording bell. Most likely closer to the Custom.

My impression has always been that the O-20 bell is the same dimensions as the R-15 Recording bell, but I have no way to verify that, as my O-20 is a parts horn; it has an 8" yellow brass bell, but it didn't come with the valve section, so I cannot be certain that it's actually an O-20 bell.

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the Valve Trombone is an O-20. My confusion. I also have an R-20 and will be experimenting using it in conjunction with the O-20 valve assembly. I play Euphonium primarily.
