I recently purchased a bass trombone labeled as the “K47 R/SE” model by Jürgen Voigt here in Japan. While I can tell it’s a fantastic instrument just by playing it, I have almost no information about it other than the manufacturer and model name. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with any official catalog or documentation, and I couldn’t find anything through my online searches.

I’m particularly interested in details such as the production period, bell and bore sizes, materials used, and any other relevant information. If anyone has knowledge about this specific model, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

I think Jurgen has retired and his daughter has been running the company for many years. I believe her name is Kirsten……apologies if I am incorrect. She does speak some English.

They are are capable of making instruments highly customized. If you do ask for anything to be customized, be careful of bore size. The Germans sometimes refer to bore size as the outside of a tubing and it is assumed that the tubing is 1 mm thick. I ordered a special-sized rotary valve from them 2 years ago and I had to repeatedly remind them that the bore size I specified was “inside diameter.”

You seem to be right about that. As there is not much information given about the company on their webpage I searched around a little bit and found this kind of company portrait.

Love the manual toolroom lathes, old Victor engine lathe, Schaublins, Hurco CNC, Edge 14' magazine bar feeder, sensitive drill lane, Lista-like machine green worktables, magnifiers over lined trays and cool hand tools under good lighting. Liking all those precision table vice and rotating from corners; nice for elbows.
